Hi, I’m Karawynn, and I write Pocketmint.
I began to develop an urgent interest in personal finance in 2005, right as the first pf blogs were coming online. For a long time I was content just to read and learn, but eventually I began to have Things To Say on the subject.
My personal experience includes digging myself into a five-figure consumer debt hole and then climbing back out of it, buying a house right before the mortgage crisis sent property values plummeting, and making the transition from a two-income to a one-income household.

Otherwise: I am forty-two years old; I live in Seattle Washington with my partner Jak, one dog, two cats, and (half-time) my younger stepdaughter, age thirteen. Besides my penchant for personal finance, I am a visual and UI designer, a fiction and nonfiction writer, and a foodie and gourmet cook. Lately you can find my more random ramblings on Google+.
